RICHLAND ONE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT

In partnership with Schneider Electric, Influent Energy proudly completed a groundbreaking solar project for the Richland One Area School District in Columbia, South Carolina. This transformative initiative marks a significant milestone in the district’s modernization efforts, culminating in a total of 8.7 MW of solar PV now enhancing the rooftops of fifteen schools, driving sustainability and innovation forward.
The selected sites for these solar systems are Alcorn Middle School, J.P. Thomas Elementary School, Columbia High School, Pine Grove Elementary School, Southeast Middle School, South Kilbourne Elementary School, Satchel Ford Elementary School, Lower Richland High School, St. Andrews Middle School, Burton Pack Elementary School, W. G. Sanders Middle School, W.A. Perry Middle School, Eau Claire High School, Hand Middle School, and Logan Elementary School.
With Schneider Electric's comprehensive two-phase project encompassing fifteen district campuses, Richland One can anticipate nearly $57 million in energy savings over the next two decades. This initiative plays a central role in the district's ambitious vision of achieving net-zero energy consumption at several of its sites.
Beyond the tangible benefits of clean and sustainable energy, Influent Energy has further enriched the educational experience for students by providing the District with our innovative K-12 curriculum, "Generating Tomorrow." This program offers students the unique opportunity to explore and learn about solar PV systems and renewable energy concepts, transforming their schools into live learning laboratories. Through engaging lessons on energy sources, efficiency, and more, students are empowered to become environmental stewards, fostering a brighter and more sustainable future for their communities.
